True Expertise Requires an
A - TEAM

If done right, there is NO WAY a single consultant can provide the depth and breadth that effective college consulting demands.

From helping our clients understand their natural Strengths, to what they want from college, to the financial aspect of paying for it and all the pieces in between...we bring in subject matter experts and bring them to bear all along the way.

Remember, a single consultant in this space is a “Jack of All Trades – Master of None.”

THE WHOLE IS GREATER THAN THE SUM OF ITS PARTS.

Ty Hand

RF Mascot and Jokester

I am a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Mix and part-time Real Frequency happiness consultant. I am originally from Kansas City, Kansas, but have made my home in Spokane. My Real Frequency is at its max when I am hiking, swimming, eating Pup Cups, and fetching tennis balls with Brynn. You will often find me napping on the shag rug in Evan’s office or curled up on my bed in Brynn’s.

RF Essay Specialist

Being from the Northwest, I learned the power of yes. Yes to trying new things, new places, and new adventures like earning a motorcycle license, backpacking through Europe alone, and hitting a 180 bowling average! While I love to be out in a crowd, trying new ventures, I also have a deep-seated love for my favorite homebody activities: reading and writing. There is nothing cozier than spending a drizzling rainy day in autumn as one dives into an ink-stained world.

As an English educator, I strive to create relationships with students to develop that innate desire to share, open-up, and empathize through literature and their own writing, finding awe in their own vulnerability. It's a little scary to say yes, but my students find it is worth it.

I believe that finding your strengths and following that as far as it can take you is the only way to reach fulfillment in your life– and it is Real Frequency’s mission to help people on that journey.

Born and raised in Spokane, Washington, I am currently finding my Real Frequency at Gonzaga University studying English and Film. From writing and directing my own projects to help others bring their visions to life, I find my Real Frequency in the power of video and story and am using that to help RF reach its clients in new and exciting ways.

RF Director of College Consulting

As an educator, consultant and tutor, my cup is filled when I am helping students achieve happiness and success. I believe this can propel students into a multitude of amazing experiences! Through my academic career, I have learned that plans often…don’t go according to plan. And that’s ok! My goal is to build meaningful relationships, inspire confidence and pride, and empower students’ love for lifelong learning–in and out of the classroom.

I am a Northwest native whose Real Frequency can be found in the mountains and rivers of Montana. I love kayaking, swimming, hiking, camping, and birdwatching! I am energized when sharing my love for the outdoors with my students, family, and canine soulmate, Ty.

I am a Canadian who loves outdoor sports and recreation, maple syrup and sitting down and relaxing on the chesterfield after a hard day’s work, eh. Activities that get 100% of my focus is where I find my Real Frequency. For me that can be many things, but is most often education, sports, learning a new skill, or trying to keep up with my wife and dog in the beautiful Canadian Rockies.

One thing that tunes me into my Real Frequency is helping others succeed. Having been educated on both sides of the 49th parallel, I look forward to sharing my insights and experiences to help those who are considering hopping the border for university from and to Canada.

My Real Frequency is on fire when I am behind a boat waterskiing or listening to music that speaks to my spirit. The whole world washes away. There is nothing a human with determination and help can’t achieve. It takes vulnerability and self awareness - 2 things I constantly work on. Two words my friends would describe me with are well-rounded and outgoing. I am all about the cultivation of the whole person, rooted in my PNW lifestyle and a vast number of activities that get me jacked for another day of adventure. From making jewelry to playing sports to going on mindful walks, I give my whole person to my pursuits.

I am most in tune with my Real Frequency when I am trying something new like running away to Costa Rica with no plan and no money, yeah I did that... Everything is an opportunity to learn and grow, especially as an adolescent currently navigating college life. I strive to empower others to hone into their Real Frequencies and seize the day!

RF Chief Strategy Officer and College Financial Planning Practice Lead

I love tinkering with systems and challenging the status quo, and I’m setting my sights on the college process after years as a school counselor. I wrote Choose the Perfect College to give students and parents sanity during the college selection and decision process, and Hire Education is a “how-to-think” book that challenges our approach to applying to and paying for college.

My family and I recently moved to suburban Denver, and we enjoy weekend hikes (lovingly referred to as “forced family fun”), doing something creative, and spending time with friends from church and our neighborhood. I can’t wait to work on the next idea that helps us do our jobs better at Real Frequency!

I am an educator who strives to inspire curiosity and foster a love of learning in my students. It is a thrill to connect them to the world through engaging learning experiences that are purposeful and active. My favorite part of being an educator is building meaningful relationships and creating positive

environments where we genuinely learn from one another. As an essay specialist, I aim to assist students in becoming more confident writers as they share their personal stories. As a native Floridian, my real frequency is found when enjoying the beach. My car is almost always a bit sandy, but that’s the way I like it! I love traveling, hiking, kayaking, and eating at new restaurants. One of my life goals is never to stop learning and growing. I am in my happy place when spending time with my three beautiful kids and my dog, Rosie!

I am a native Washingtonian, but have been all over North America for my schooling and work. I have been a part of higher education since my first days of undergraduate school to my current gig as an Associate Professor in the Sport Management department at Gonzaga University. I am truly blessed to work with college students on a daily basis and help guide them to find their own Real Frequency in life, through sport or whatever they enjoy.

After graduating and finishing my career as a collegiate athlete, I continually find new ways to be active. Whether it’s training for a triathlon, playing intramural sports with my graduate students, or going on a hike with my kids, it doesn’t really matter. I like to be active, while also finding time to relax. I really enjoy playing and coaching sports, having recently been fortunate to coach my kids as well as local high school students.

As an educator, Certified Life Coach, and freelance writer and author, I love helping individuals find hope and direction in a world filled with uncertainty and chaos. Few things in life are as fulfilling as helping people find their true paths.

I find I am most in tune with my true self when I am hiking in my two favorite places, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. The exhilaration of exploring nature and finding its hidden treasures tunes me into my Real Frequency. It takes dedication and perseverance to complete the 6-mile, steep, uphill hike to Ptarmigan Tunnel, but overcoming that challenge makes me feel like I can accomplish anything!

Effective Delivery Requires a
COORDINATED ATTACK

To deliver our services the right way, we work to strike a balance between one-on-one work done between the client and the consultant, one-on-work done between the client and our subject matter experts.

In this model, the primary consultant will “hand-off” the client to other Real Frequency professional depending on where the client is in the process, and what their needs are at that point in time.
